Welcome to Alertra, Now What?Introduction (Part 1 of 4)Prev | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | NextThank you for signing up for a new account with Alertra. Our network monitoring service is now watching over your servers 24 hours a day. If your server goes down, you'll know before they know. We have gathered together some information that new users of our system may find useful. You can use this page as a jumping off point to learn more about using Alertra to protect you from downtime. How It WorksOur multi-POP (point of presence) monitoring stations, located around the world in carrier-class data centers, conduct rigorous RFC-compliant protocol tests on your Web servers, network services and hardware devices like routers, etc. (more...) Status WindowThe Status window shows up on the right side of all Alertra pages whenever you are logged into your account. It gives you the latest information on the devices you are monitoring. (more...) ContactsWhen you first create your account, your account e-mail is your only contact. You can add new contacts here, or by clicking "Contacts" in the Menu window. Contacts are e-mail addresses, phone numbers, SMS devices, etc.. that are notified whenever your device goes down and when it comes back up. (more...) Adding New DevicesYour first device is probably a web server monitored using an HTTP-B device type. The HTTP-B check confirms that there is connectivity to your server and that your web service (e.g. Apache, IIS, Tomcat, etc..) is responding to requests. Did you know that you can add other devices or expand the testing of your existing web server to find other types of problems? (more...) You might also want to take a look at:
