Protocols Monitored
Each device type we support is listed below along with the relevant RFC for the protocol if applicable. Click the link of any device type for detailed information including configuration options.
HTTP-B
Check HTTP URL for valid response code. Does not load URL.
HTTP/S
RFC 2616 (HTTP/1.1). Load your HTTP or HTTPS URL. Check content.
HOST
Check your host/server to ensure all critical services are running.
PING
RFC 792 (ICMP). Ping your Web server, router, etc.
SMTP
RFC 821. Establish a connection with your SMTP server.
POP3
RFC 1081. Log into your POP3 server with username and password.
IMAP4
RFC 1730. Log into your IMAP4 server with username and password.
FTP
RFC 959. Log into your FTP server with username and password.
TELNET
RFC 854. Check your TELNET server for valid banner response.
SSH
Log into your SSH server with username and password.
DNS
Check your DNS server to ensure it is resolving domain names.
NNTP
RFC 977. Check your NNTP server for valid banner response.
TCP
RFC 793. Test TCP socket connections with any host and port.
MySQL
Log into your MySQL server database with username and password.
Custom Script
Write ASL scripts to monitor Web transactions.
