DNS Check

Check a domain name server (DNS) to ensure it is running and resolving a specific hostname correctly.

Settings:

Host Address: The hostname or IP address of the host running the DNS server to be checked.

Port: The port DNS is listening on, usually port 53.

Resolve Hostname: The hostname to resolve.

Verify Text (Optional): The content returned by the DNS query can be checked for the presence of verification text. This is usually the expected IP address of the resolved hostname. If not found, a "Content Error" will be generated. Note that the verification is case sensitive and the text must be found in the returned content exactly as it is entered. To verify text using a regular expression, enter "regex:" followed by the expression.
